Google announced that it would be making the Play marketplace more tablet-friendly earlier this year. In addition to its new tag, Google added a "tablet optimization tips" section to its app Developer Console. Developers can check the new section for any issues that might prevent their app from getting the "Designed for tablets" tag. Once those issues are resolved, the app can then be included in the category.
