A GLITCH on Apple's iPhone stopped its alarm clock going off over the first two days of the New Year.
Thousands of angry bloggers and tweeters slammed Apple after many were late for work. Others missed flights and trains after the smartphone disabled any alarms that had been set. Apple has acknowledged the problem and says it will be fixed by January 3. No explanation has been given yet as to why the glitch has appeared. A similar problem hit the popular iPhone 4 - bought by more than 1.4million people in 2010 - in November causing many users to oversleep. Apple spokeswoman Natalie Harrison said: "We're aware of an issue related to non-repeating alarms set for January 1 or 2. "Customers can set recurring alarms for those dates and all alarms will work properly beginning January 3."
